OCCUPY WALL STREET MANIFESTO

A manifesto of sorts has emerged from Occupy Wall Street:

Occupy Wall Street: "Declaration of the Occupation of New York City"
As we gather together in solidarity to express a feeling of mass injustice, we must not lose sight of what brought us together. We write so that all people who feel wronged by the corporate forces of the world can know that we are your allies.
As one people, united, we acknowledge the reality: that the future of the human race requires the cooperation of its members; that our system must protect our rights, and upon corruption of that system, it is up to the individuals to protect their own rights, and those of their neighbors; that a democratic government derives its just power from the people, but corporations do not seek consent to extract wealth from the people and the Earth; and that no true democracy is attainable when the process is determined by economic power. We come to you at a time when corporations, which place profit over people, self-interest over justice, and oppression over equality, run our governments. We have peaceably assembled here, as is our right, to let these facts be known.

Occupy Wall Street: live streaming video coverage

The live streamed coverage of the NYC protests by the Occupy Wall Street organizers is pretty impressive stuff. Xeni

As Donald Cook's sister [Harriet Buz Valentia], I add my support to the OccupyWallStreet protest. It is already Saturday, 10-15-11, on the East Coast of the USA, and a new day is dawning in this Nation, as millions combine in the use of Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Assembly to let the world know of the grievances of the many downtrodden here in the U.S.A.

My brothers listing of grievances is based on the quotation of the grievances voiced in Zuccotti Park in the pivotal days of Oct. 2-5, 2011. Keith Olbermann of the weeknight 8 pm Eastern "Countdown with Keith Olbermann" on Current TV was with the OccupyWallStreet protesters on Oct. 5, 2011 and his website carried a quotation of the OccupyWallStreet protesters' grievances as they were read on that day. My brother Don Cook is the founder and editor of two online daily newspapers on NewsCred [http://see-arthur-dawn-2-74.newscred.com and http://final-four-of-X-86.newscred.com]. Don has paraphrased the OccupyWallStreet grievances in support of all those who are taking action to make their presence known. The protesters speak not only for themselves, but also for the many voiceless. The "occupiers" -- although diverse and representative of those of all walks of life who hold a myriad of viewpoints -- advocate that the time has come to correct unfair policies. In one voice, they raise tbe heartfelt desire to remove from office those who are obstructing the freedoms that are the promise of our Nation -- since its inception. As the light of dawn comes to the East Coast of the USA today, Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011, let the Dream of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. be our vision and our realization. As we move from vision & an ardent dream -- for which the Rev. Dr. King gave his life -- to a reality enjoyed by those who now cry out for justice. The dawning reality is being made possible by activism and advocacy -- coordinated with awareness, education, communication, and camaraderie. A transformation shall occur within our Nation as voices speak out and warm, live peoples take to the street. Voices echoing -- even without bullhorns -- trumpet a message that will not be squelched nor silenced. Now - comes the dawn of truth, a truth that will break through the darkness of obstructionism. -- With love to all who raise their voices in behalf of the rights of the People, Buz
