RIO BRANCO: A GRINGO'S VIEW
(Where do the colors come from?)
When I first arrived in Brazil, I immediately noticed how common is the color combination of green and orange which is an extremely uncommon combination to see in the States. Yet, here, I found it everywhere -- on houses, buildings, fences and on the clothes people like to wear. I soon realized that it was a reflection of the ecology -- orange-red earth and all varieties of green plants -- almost as if we decorate with a chameleon-like camouflage.
